No account required

The NGET Bible app does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use it. You can read the full translation and all concept annotations without identifying yourself in any way.

Data we collect

The only personal data we receive is what you choose to send through the feedback form: your message, and your name and phone number if you add them. Both of those fields are optional, and the form works without them.

Feedback goes to our team’s private Slack workspace, where a person reads it. We use it to fix the translation and the app, and to reply to you if you left a way to reach you. We never use it for marketing or add you to a mailing list.

Cookies and tracking

We use Heap Analytics to understand how readers use the site and app: which chapters are read, which features are used, and how we can improve the reading experience. Heap collects anonymous interaction data (screen views, taps, navigation) but does not collect personal information, names, email addresses, or location data. No advertising networks or tracking pixels are used. You can learn more about Heap’s privacy practices at heap.io/privacy.

Bible content

The Bible text, word notes and chapter introductions are written in advance by the NGET project. Anthropic’s AI model, Claude, drafted each chapter under published guidelines, and people are reviewing the chapters one at a time; each chapter shows whether its review is done. Nothing you type is sent to an AI service. Readers can’t post anything for other readers to see. The translation is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).

Settings saved on your device

The website saves your reading settings (page color, text size, typeface, layout) and the last chapter you read in your browser, so they’re there next time. The iOS and Android apps store their settings, such as text size and theme, on your device the same way. This stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.

Third-party sharing

We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. Two outside services handle data for us. Heap receives the anonymous usage data described above and no personal information. Slack delivers feedback messages to our team, including a name and phone number if you gave them. Each processes data only on our behalf and is required to protect it at least as well as this policy does.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep feedback messages for as long as they help us improve the translation. To have one deleted, email peter@gracecentered.life with roughly when you sent it and what it said, and we will delete it, and any name or phone number with it, within 30 days. Your reading settings stay on your device; deleting the app or clearing your browser data removes them. Heap’s usage data is not tied to your name, so we cannot find one person’s share of it.

Children’s privacy

The app does not ask anyone’s age and does not require any personal information. The only personal data it can send us is what someone types into the optional feedback form. If a child has sent us their name or phone number, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page with the new effective date. Since we do not collect contact information from most users, this page is the primary way we communicate policy changes.
