Yahweh, our master, how magnificent is your name across the whole earth — you whose splendor is set above the skies!

From the mouths of babies and nursing infants you have built a fortress of praise — silencing the enemy and the one bent on revenge.

When I look at your skies — the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars you set in place —

what are human beings that you think about them? What are mere mortals that you care for them?

Yet you made them only a little lower than the heavenly beings, and crowned them with weight and honor.

You gave them charge over everything your hands made; you put all things under their feet —

flocks and herds, all of them, and even the wild animals,

the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea, and everything that moves through ocean currents.
