Yahweh, my God, I run to you for safety — rescue me from everyone hunting me down, pull me free,

before they tear me apart like a lion — ripping me to pieces with no one to save me.

Yahweh, my God — if I have done this, if there is guilt on my hands,

if I have repaid a friend with harm, or stripped bare someone who opposed me without cause —

then let my enemy chase me down and catch me, let him stomp my life into the dirt and leave my reputation in the dust. Selah.

Rise up, Yahweh, in your anger! Stand tall against the rage of my enemies! Wake up, my God — you yourself have demanded justice!

Let the assembly of nations surround you, and take your seat high above them all.

Yahweh judges the peoples — vindicate me, Yahweh, according to my integrity, according to the innocence that is in me.

Put an end to the violence of the corrupt, but establish the one who does right — you who examine hearts and minds, you just God.

My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.

God is a just judge, and a God who burns with anger every single day against corruption.

If someone does not turn back, God sharpens his sword; he has bent his bow and made it ready.

He has prepared his deadly weapons; he tips his arrows with fire.

Look — the corrupt one labors with trouble, conceives harm, and gives birth to lies.

He digs a pit and hollows it out, then falls into the very hole he made.

His trouble comes back on his own head; his violence crashes down on his own skull.

I will thank Yahweh for his justice; I will sing praise to the name of Yahweh, the Most High.
