Answer me when I call out, God who sets things right for me. When I was boxed in, you made room. Be kind to me — hear what I have to say.

How long will you powerful people drag my name through the dirt? How long will you chase after what's empty and run after lies?

But know this: Yahweh has set apart someone who is faithful to him. Yahweh hears me when I call out to him.

Tremble — and then stop failing him. Search your own hearts on your beds at night, and be still.

Bring the right offerings and put your trust in Yahweh.

So many people say, "Who will show us anything good?" Let the light of your face shine on us, Yahweh.

You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and new wine overflow.

I will lie down and sleep in peace, because you alone, Yahweh, let me live in safety.
