Praise Yahweh! How good it is to sing to our God — how sweet it is, how fitting, to let praise rise.

Yahweh is rebuilding Jerusalem; he gathers the scattered ones of Israel back home.

He mends the shattered in heart and wraps their wounds with care.

He counts every star by number; he calls each one by name.

Our God is vast, immeasurably powerful — what he understands has no limit.

Yahweh lifts up the humble but drives the corrupt down to the dust.

Sing out to Yahweh with thanks; play music to our God on the lyre.

He veils the sky with clouds, prepares rain for the earth, and makes grass spring up on the mountains.

He gives the animals their food and feeds the young ravens when they cry out.

He takes no pleasure in the power of a horse or in the strength of a warrior's legs.

What Yahweh delights in are those who stand in awe of him — those who rest their hope in his faithful love.

Celebrate Yahweh, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!

For he has strengthened the bars of your gates; he has spoken goodness over your children within your walls.

He keeps peace along your borders and satisfies you with the finest wheat.

He sends his word across the earth — his command races out at full speed.

He scatters snow like wool and spreads frost like ashes across the ground.

He hurls his ice like crumbs — who can stand against his cold?

He sends out his word and melts them; he stirs up his wind, and the waters flow again.

He reveals his word to Jacob, his boundaries and his justice to Israel.

He has not done this for any other nation — they do not know his justice the way Israel does. Praise Yahweh!
