Praise Yahweh! Let everything in me praise Yahweh.

I will praise Yahweh as long as I live. I will sing to my God with every breath I have.

Don't put your confidence in powerful people, in any human being — they can't ultimately save you.

When they breathe their last, they return to the ground. On that very day, all their plans vanish.

Life is good for the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope rests on Yahweh their God —

the one who made the sky and the earth, the sea and everything in them, who stays faithful forever,

who secures justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. Yahweh sets prisoners free.

Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind. Yahweh lifts up those who are crushed. Yahweh loves the ones who live right.

Yahweh protects the foreigner. He sustains the fatherless and the widow. But the path of the wicked — he turns it upside down.

Yahweh will reign forever — your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise Yahweh!
