For the music director. A psalm of the sons of Korah. Yahweh, you showed favor to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob.

You forgave the failure of your people; you covered over all the ways they wronged you. Selah

You pulled back all your fury; you turned away from your burning anger.

Bring us back, God of our rescue; let go of your frustration with us.

Will you be angry with us forever? Will you drag out your frustration across every generation?

Won't you revive us again, so your people can find their joy in you?

Show us your faithful love, Yahweh; give us your rescue.

Let me listen for what God, Yahweh, will say — he speaks peace to his people, to those devoted to him. But let them not return to foolishness.

Surely his rescue is near for those who stand in awe of him, so that his glory can settle in our land.

Faithful love and truth have met; justice and peace have kissed.

Truth springs up from the ground; justice looks down from the sky.

Yes, Yahweh will give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.

Justice will walk ahead of him and make a path for his steps.
