His tent is set up in Salem; his dwelling place, in Zion.

There he shattered the flaming arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah

You are radiant with light, more majestic than the mountains full of prey.

The fearless warriors were stripped of their plunder; they sank into their final sleep. Not one of the mighty could lift a hand.

At your thundering rebuke, God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lay still as stone.

You — you are terrifying. Who can stand before you when your anger ignites?

From the sky you thundered your verdict; the earth cowered and went silent

when God rose to deliver his verdict — to rescue every crushed soul on earth. Selah

Even human fury ends up praising you; what survives your wrath, you wear like a belt.

Make promises to Yahweh your God, and follow through. Let everyone around him bring gifts to the one who is terrifying —

the one who cuts short the arrogance of rulers, who terrifies the kings of the earth.
