God, you are my God — I search for you with everything in me. My whole being thirsts for you, my body aches for you like cracked earth in a land with no water.

So yes — I have looked for you in the sacred place, catching sight of your power and your weight of glory.

Because your faithful love is better than life itself, my lips will sing your worth.

So I will honor you as long as I live, lifting my hands in your name.

My whole being is satisfied like a rich feast, and my mouth praises you with joy on my lips.

When I remember you on my bed, through the watches of the night I think about you —

because you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.

My whole being clings to you; your right hand holds me close.

But those who hunt my life to destroy it — they will go down into the depths of the earth.

They will be handed over to the sword; they will become food for jackals.

But the king will find his joy in God. Everyone who makes their promises by him will celebrate, because the mouths of liars will be shut.
