He alone is my rock and my rescue, my fortress high above — I will not be deeply shaken.

How long will all of you attack one person — trying to break him down like a leaning wall, a fence about to collapse?

They only scheme to topple him from his place of honor. They love their lies — they speak kind words to his face but curse him under their breath. Selah.

Yes — my whole being, wait in stillness for God alone, because my hope comes from him.

He alone is my rock and my rescue, my fortress high above — I will not be shaken.

My rescue and my honor rest on God — my mighty rock, my shelter is found in God.

Trust in him at all times, you people — pour out your hearts before him. God is our shelter. Selah.

Ordinary people are just a breath, powerful people are an illusion — weigh them on a scale and together they are lighter than air.

Don't rely on oppression or put empty hope in stolen wealth — if riches grow, don't set your heart on them.

God has spoken once, and I have heard this twice: that power belongs to God,

and to you, Yahweh, belongs undeserved kindness — for you repay each person according to what they have done.
