Shout for joy to Yahweh, you who live right — praise sounds so good coming from the upright.

Thank Yahweh with the lyre, make music for him on a ten-stringed harp.

Sing him a brand new song — play with everything you've got, and let the sound ring out.

Because the word of Yahweh stands straight and true, and everything he does is anchored in faithfulness.

He is drawn to what is just and right — the whole earth overflows with Yahweh's loyal love.

By the word of Yahweh the skies were made, and all their starry hosts by the breath of his mouth.

He gathers the ocean waters like a wall, and stores the deep seas in vaults.

Let the whole earth stand in awe of Yahweh — let everyone on the planet tremble before him.

Because he spoke, and it was. He commanded, and it stood firm.

Yahweh dismantles the plans of nations, he unravels the strategies of peoples.

But Yahweh's plans stand forever, the intentions of his heart through every generation.

Life is good for the nation whose God is Yahweh — the people he chose as his own.

Yahweh looks down from the sky— he sees every human being.

From the place where he sits enthroned, he watches everyone who lives on the earth.

He shaped every one of their hearts — he understands everything they do.

No king is rescued by the size of his army— no warrior is saved by brute strength alone.

The war horse is a false hope for rescue — for all its power, it cannot save you.

But look — Yahweh's eyes are on those who honor him, on those who put their hope in his loyal love,

to pull them back from the edge of death and keep them alive through the hunger.

Our whole being waits for Yahweh — he is our help, he is our shield.

In him our hearts overflow with joy, because we trust in his set-apart name.

Let your loyal love rest on us, Yahweh — we've put all our hope in you.
