Yahweh is my light and my deliverance — who could I possibly fear? Yahweh is the stronghold of my life — who could make me tremble?

When those bent on destruction closed in on me — when my enemies and my attackers came for me — they were the ones who stumbled and fell.

Even if an army sets up camp against me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if war breaks out around me, even then — I will be confident.

One thing I have asked of Yahweh, this is what I'm searching for: to live in Yahweh's house every day of my life, to gaze on the beauty of Yahweh and to seek him in his sacred space.

Because he will shelter me when the worst comes. He will hide me deep within his tent. He will set me high on a rock.

And now my head is lifted high above the enemies surrounding me. I will offer joyful sacrifices in his tent — I will sing, I will make music to Yahweh!

Hear me, Yahweh, when I cry out — show me undeserved kindness and answer me!

My heart heard you say, "Seek my face." Your face, Yahweh — that is what I'm seeking.

Don't hide your face from me. Don't turn your servant away in anger. You have always been my help — don't abandon me, don't leave me behind, God of my deliverance.

Even if my father and mother abandon me, Yahweh will take me in.

Teach me your way, Yahweh, and lead me on a level path because of those watching for me to fall.

Don't hand me over to the desire of my enemies — false witnesses have risen against me, breathing out violence.

But I believe this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living.

Wait for Yahweh. Be strong — let your heart be brave. Wait for Yahweh.
