Life is good for those who don't follow the advice of the corrupt, who don't stand around with people bent on failure, who don't sit in the company of the cynical.

Instead, they find their deepest pleasure in Yahweh's instruction — they turn it over in their minds, day and night.

They become like a tree planted beside streams of water — bearing fruit when the time is right, its leaves never withering. Everything they do thrives.

The corrupt are nothing like this — they are like chaff that the wind scatters away.

So the corrupt will not stand when the time of judgment comes, and those bent on failure will have no place among those who are just.

Because Yahweh watches over the path of those who are just, but the path of the corrupt leads to ruin.
