"And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say: This is what Yahweh, the Sovereign One, declares — I am against you, Gog, warlord of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal.

I will turn you around, drive you forward, and pull you up from the far reaches of the north. I will bring you against the mountains of Israel.

I will knock the bow from your left hand and scatter your arrows from your right.

You will collapse on the mountains of Israel — you and all your battalions and the peoples who march with you. I will hand you over as food for every kind of predatory bird and wild animal.

You will fall in the open field, for I myself have spoken — this is the declaration of Yahweh, the Sovereign One.

I will send fire on Magog and on those who live carefree along the coastlands. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.

I will make my set-apart name known among my people Israel, and I will never again let my set-apart name be dragged through the dirt. Then the nations will know that I am Yahweh, the one set apart in Israel.

Look — it is coming. It will happen. This is the day I have spoken of — the declaration of Yahweh, the Sovereign One.

Then those who live in the cities of Israel will go out and set fire to the weapons — shields and bucklers, bows and arrows, war clubs and spears. They will burn them as fuel for seven years.

They will not need to gather wood from the fields or cut it from the forests, because the weapons themselves will be their fuel. They will plunder those who plundered them and strip those who stripped them — the declaration of Yahweh, the Sovereign One.

On that day, I will give Gog a burial ground in Israel — the Valley of the Travelers, east of the Dead Sea. It will block the way of anyone passing through. There they will bury Gog and his entire horde, and they will call it the Valley of Gog's Horde.

For seven months, the house of Israel will be burying them in order to cleanse the land.

All the people of the land will take part in the burials, and it will bring them renown — on the day I display my glory, declares Yahweh, the Sovereign One.

They will assign people to the permanent task of passing through the land, burying any remains left on the surface, in order to cleanse it. They will begin their search after the seven months are over.

As those assigned pass through the land, whenever someone sees a human bone, they will set up a marker beside it until the burial crews come and bury it in the Valley of Gog's Horde.

(There will even be a city there named Hamonah — "Horde.") And so they will cleanse the land.

And you, son of man — this is what Yahweh, the Sovereign One, says: Call out to every kind of bird and every wild animal: Gather and come! Assemble from every direction for the sacrifice I am preparing for you — a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel. You will eat flesh and drink blood.

You will eat the flesh of warriors and drink the blood of the rulers of the earth — rams, lambs, goats, and bulls, all of them fattened livestock from Bashan.

You will gorge on fat until you are glutted and drink blood until you are drunk — from this sacrifice I have prepared for you.

At my table you will be stuffed with horses and riders, warriors and every kind of soldier — the declaration of Yahweh, the Sovereign One.

I will put my glory on display among the nations, and all the nations will see the judgment I have carried out, the weight of my hand that I have laid on them.

From that day forward, the house of Israel will know that I am Yahweh their God.

And the nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile because of their own failure — because they broke faith with me. So I hid my face from them and handed them over to their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.

I dealt with them according to their corruption and their rebellion, and I hid my face from them.

So this is what Yahweh, the Sovereign One, says: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have compassion on the entire house of Israel, and I will be fiercely protective of my set-apart name.

They will bear their shame and all the unfaithfulness they committed against me, when they live securely in their land with no one to terrorize them.

When I bring them back from the peoples and gather them from the lands of their enemies, I will display my set-apart nature through them in the sight of many nations.

Then they will know that I am Yahweh their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations and then gathered them back to their own land, leaving none behind.

I will never again hide my face from them, for I will pour out my Breath on the house of Israel — the declaration of Yahweh, the Sovereign One.
