The word of Yahweh came to me:

"Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog — the chief ruler of Meshech and Tubal — and speak what God has shown you against him:

Say: This is what the Lord Yahweh declares — I am against you, Gog, chief ruler of Meshech and Tubal.

I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws, and drag you out — you and your entire army: horses and riders in full armor, a massive force with large and small shields, all of them wielding swords.

Persia, Cush, and Put will march with them, all carrying shields and helmets —

Gomer with all its troops, and Beth-togarmah from the far north with all its troops — many peoples will stand with you.

"Get ready — prepare yourself, you and all the forces assembled around you. You will be their commander.

After a long time, you will be summoned. In the final years, you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations back to the mountains of Israel — mountains that had been desolate for so long. They were brought out from the nations, and now they all live in safety.

You will advance like a storm. You will come like a cloud covering the land — you and all your troops and the many nations with you."

This is what the Lord Yahweh declares: On that day, thoughts will form in your mind, and you will devise an evil plan.

You will say, 'I will invade a land of unwalled villages. I will attack a peaceful, unsuspecting people — all of them living without walls, gates, or bars.'

You will come to plunder and loot, to turn your hand against rebuilt ruins and a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who live at the center of the world.

Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish with all its traders will say to you, 'Have you come to plunder? Have you assembled your forces to loot — to carry off silver and gold, to take livestock and goods, to haul away a massive amount of plunder?'

"So speak what God has shown you, son of man, and say to Gog: This is what the Lord Yahweh declares — On that day, when my people Israel are living in safety, won't you take notice?

You will come from your place in the far north — you and many nations with you, all of them riding horses — a great horde, a massive army.

You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. In the days to come, Gog, I will bring you against my land so that the nations will know me when I show myself set apart through you, right before their eyes.

This is what the Lord Yahweh declares: Aren't you the one I spoke about in earlier times through my servants, the prophets of Israel, who for years kept saying someone would come against them? You are the one.

"On that day — the day Gog invades the land of Israel — this is what the Lord Yahweh declares — my burning anger will flare up.

In my jealous passion and blazing fury I declare: On that day a massive earthquake will shake the land of Israel.

The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the animals of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and every person on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. Mountains will be thrown down, cliffs will crumble, and every wall will collapse to the ground.

I will call for a sword against Gog across all my mountains — this is what the Lord Yahweh declares. Every man's sword will turn against his brother.

I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed. I will pour down torrential rain, hailstones, fire, and sulfur on him and his troops and the many nations with him.

And so I will show my greatness and prove myself set apart. I will make myself known in the sight of many nations, and they will know that I am Yahweh."
