After this I heard what sounded like the roaring voice of an enormous crowd in heaven, shouting: "Hallelujah! Rescue and glory and power belong to our God,

because his judgments are real and fair. He has condemned the notorious prostitute who was poisoning the whole earth with her corruption, and he has brought justice for the blood of those who served him that she spilled."

And a second time they shouted: "Hallelujah! The smoke from her destruction rises forever and ever."

Then the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell facedown and worshipped God, who sits on the throne, crying out: "Amen! Hallelujah!"

Then a voice came from the throne, saying: "Praise our God, all you who serve him -- everyone who stands in awe of him, from the least to the greatest!"

Then I heard what sounded like the roar of an enormous crowd, like the thundering of massive waterfalls, like powerful peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah! Because the Lord our God -- the One who holds all power -- has begun his reign!

Let's celebrate and be overjoyed and give him honor, because the wedding day of the Lamb has come, and his bride has gotten herself ready."

She was given brilliant, clean linen to wear." (The fine linen represents the just and right actions of those set apart for God.)

Then the angel said to me, "Write this down: Life is good for those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb." And he added, "These are the genuine words of God."

I fell at his feet to worship him, but he told me, "Don't do that! I'm a fellow servant, just like you and your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!" (Because the testimony of Jesus is the very breath that drives all prophecy.)

Then I saw heaven standing wide open, and there was a white horse. The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and wages war with perfect justice.

His eyes blazed like fire, and on his head were many royal crowns. He had a name written on him that no one knew except himself.

He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his name is called The Word of God.

The armies of heaven followed him on white horses, wearing brilliant, clean linen.

A sharp sword comes out of his mouth so that he can strike down the nations with it. He will rule them with an iron staff. And he is the one who treads the winepress of the fierce fury of God, the One who holds all power.

And on his robe and on his thigh he has a name written: King of kings and Lord of lords.

Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he shouted in a loud voice to all the birds flying high overhead: "Come! Gather together for the great feast of God,

so that you can eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of generals, the flesh of powerful warriors, the flesh of horses and their riders -- the flesh of everyone, free and enslaved, from the least to the greatest."

Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies, assembled to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army.

But the beast was captured, along with the false prophet who had performed signs on the beast's behalf -- the signs by which he had deceived those who received the beast's mark and who worshipped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

The rest were killed by the sword that came out of the rider's mouth, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.
