Why do you swagger in your cruelty, you powerful man? The faithful love of God never runs out.

Your tongue plots destruction, sharp as a razor, you master of lies.

You love what damages more than what heals, lying more than speaking what is true. [Selah]

You love every word that devours, you tongue of deception.

So God will tear you down for good. He will snatch you up, rip you from your tent, and uproot you from the land of the living. [Selah]

Those who live right will see it and stand in awe. They will laugh at him and say:

"Look at the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in his massive wealth and found his strength in destruction."

But me — I am like a green olive tree thriving in the house of God. I trust in the faithful love of God forever and always.

I will thank you forever for what you have done. I will put my hope in your name, for it is good, in the presence of those devoted to you.
