A miktam of David. Keep me safe, God — I've put my life in your hands.

I said to Yahweh, "You are my master. Every good thing I have comes from you."

As for the ones set apart in this land — they are the extraordinary ones, all my delight is in them.

Those who chase after other gods will multiply their sorrows. I will not pour out their offerings of blood, and I will not even speak their names.

Yahweh, you are my portion and my cup. You hold my future in your hands.

The boundary lines have fallen in beautiful places for me. What a stunning inheritance I've received.

I will praise Yahweh, who guides me. Even in the night, my deepest thoughts instruct me.

I keep Yahweh always in front of me. With him right beside me, I will not be shaken.

So my heart celebrates and my whole being sings with joy. Even my body rests secure.

Because you will not abandon me to the grave, and you will not let the one devoted to you see decay.

You show me the path to life. In your presence there is joy that fills me completely. At your right hand are pleasures that never end.
