Their children will be powerful in the land; the generation of the upright will be honored.

Wealth and plenty fill their house, and the good they do stands forever.

Even in darkness, light breaks through for the upright -- compassionate, merciful, and just.

It goes well for those who are generous and lend freely, who handle their affairs with fairness.

They will never be shaken; the just will be remembered forever.

They are not afraid of bad news; their heart is steady, trusting in Yahweh.

Their heart is secure -- they will not fear. In the end, they will look in triumph on those who opposed them.

They scatter generous gifts to the poor; the good they do stands forever. Their strength rises with honor.

The corrupt see this and seethe; they grind their teeth and waste away. What the corrupt crave will come to nothing.
