A psalm of David. Yahweh declared to my master: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footrest beneath your feet."

Yahweh will extend your powerful reach from Zion: "Rule in the middle of your enemies."

Your people will give themselves freely on the day you lead your forces. Dressed in sacred splendor, from the womb of the dawn, yours is the dew of your youth.

Yahweh has made a binding oath and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever in the tradition of Melchizedek."

The master at your right hand will shatter kings on the day of his fury.

He will execute judgment among the nations, piling up the dead, shattering rulers across the whole earth.

He will drink from the stream along the way — and then lift his head high in triumph.
