Then Job answered Yahweh:

I know you can do anything. No purpose of yours can be blocked.

"Who is this, hiding my design, and knowing nothing?" So I spoke of things I never understood, wonders far past me, things I never knew.

"Listen now, and I will speak. I will ask. You will tell me."

I had heard of you — only a rumor in the ear. Now my own eye has seen you.

So I take it all back, and I am comforted, here in dust and ashes.

After Yahweh had finished saying all this to Job, he said to Eliphaz from Teman, "I am angry at you and at your two friends, because you did not speak what is true about me, the way my servant Job did.

So take seven bulls and seven rams, go to my servant Job, and burn them whole as an offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer and not treat you the way your foolishness deserves — because you did not speak what is true about me, the way my servant Job did."

So Eliphaz from Teman, Bildad from Shuah, and Zophar from Naamah went and did what Yahweh had told them, and Yahweh accepted Job's prayer.

When Job prayed for his friends, Yahweh gave Job back everything he had lost, and then gave him twice what he had owned before.

Then all his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came to him and ate a meal with him in his house. They grieved with him and comforted him over all the disaster Yahweh had brought on him. Each one gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring.

Yahweh gave Job more in his later years than he had at the start: fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand pairs of oxen, and a thousand donkeys.

He had seven sons and three daughters.

He named the first one Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch.

Nowhere in the land were there women as beautiful as Job's daughters, and their father gave them a share of the inheritance along with their brothers.

After this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and he saw his children and his grandchildren — four generations.

Then Job died, old and full of days.
