Then Yahweh answered Job:

The man who argues it out with the Almighty — is he going to correct him? Let the one bringing the charge against God answer that.

Then Job answered Yahweh:

Look at me — I weigh nothing. What could I answer you? I put my hand over my mouth.

Once I spoke, and I will not answer. Twice, and I have nothing to add.

Then Yahweh answered Job out of the storm:

Tie your robe up like a fighting man. I will ask. You will tell me.

Are you really going to throw out my ruling — put me in the wrong so you can be in the right?

Do you have an arm like God's? Can your voice thunder the way his does?

Go ahead, then — deck yourself out in grandeur and height. Put on brightness and glory like clothes.

Let your fury spill over. Find everyone who is proud and bring him down.

Find everyone who is proud and humble him. Trample the wicked where they stand.

Bury them all in the dirt together. Wrap their faces away in the dark.

Then even I will admit it to you: your own right hand can rescue you.

Look at Behemoth — I made him the same day I made you. He eats grass like a cow.

Look at the strength in his hips, the power in the muscle of his belly.

He stiffens his tail like a cedar. The tendons of his thighs are braided tight.

His bones are pipes of bronze. His limbs are bars of iron.

He is the first of God's works, and only the one who made him comes at him with a sword.

The hills hand up their food to him where all the wild animals play.

He lies down under the lotus, hidden in the reeds and the marsh.

The lotus covers him in shade. The willows along the stream close around him.

If the river turns violent, he does not panic. He stays sure of himself when the Jordan surges into his mouth.

Can anyone take him head-on, or run a hook through his nose while he watches?
