When humans began to multiply across the face of the ground, and daughters were born to them,

the sons of Elohim saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they took wives for themselves from any they chose.

Then Yahweh said, "My breath will not remain in humans forever, since they are also flesh. Their days will be a hundred and twenty years."

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days — and also afterward — when the sons of Elohim came to the daughters of humans and had children by them. These were the mighty warriors of ancient times, the men of renown.

Yahweh saw that human corruption on the earth was extensive — every pattern of thought their hearts produced was nothing but corrupt, all the time.

Yahweh regretted that he had made humans on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.

So Yahweh said, "I will wipe off the face of the ground the humans I created — humans, livestock, creatures that crawl, and birds of the sky — because I regret that I made them."

But Noah found favor in the eyes of Yahweh.

This is the account of Noah. Noah was an upright man, without corruption among the people of his time. Noah walked with Elohim.

Noah fathered three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Now the earth had become corrupt in Elohim's sight, and the earth was filled with violence.

Elohim looked at the earth, and it was completely corrupt — every living thing on earth had corrupted its way of life.

So Elohim said to Noah, "The end of all living things has come before me, because the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am about to destroy them along with the earth.

Make yourself an ark out of cypress wood. Build rooms inside the ark and coat it inside and out with pitch.

This is how you are to build it: the ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high.

Make a roof for the ark, leaving an 18-inch opening below the roofline. Put a door in the side of the ark, and build lower, middle, and upper decks.

I am about to bring the flood — water over the earth — to destroy every living thing under the sky that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will die.

But I will establish my covenant with you. You will enter the ark — you, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives with you.

You are to bring two of every living thing into the ark to keep them alive with you — male and female.

Two of every kind of bird, every kind of animal, and every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive.

Take every kind of food that is eaten and store it away — it will be food for you and for them.

Noah did this. He did everything exactly as Elohim commanded him.
