He has something to tell you.”The commander took the young man by the hand, led him aside where they could speak privately, and asked, “What do you need to tell me?”He said, “The Jewish leaders have agreed to ask you to bring Paul before the council tomorrow, pretending they want to question him more thoroughly.”“Don’t agree to it! More than forty of them are hiding along the route, waiting to ambush him. They’ve sworn an oath not to eat or drink until he’s dead. They’re ready right now, just waiting for you to give the order.”The commander dismissed the young man with a warning: “Don’t tell anyone that you’ve reported this to me.”Then he called two of his centurions and ordered, “Get two hundred soldiers ready to march to by nine tonight, along with seventy cavalry and two hundred .”“Also, provide horses for Paul to ride, and get him safely to .”He wrote a letter that went something like this:“, to His Excellency Governor Felix: Greetings.”“This man was seized by the Jewish crowd and they were about to kill him.
